KeenSense is a browser extension that tracks product prices on any website, stores price history entirely on your device, and sends you a browser notification when a tracked price drops. No account. No developer-operated backend. No affiliate links.
KeenSense periodically re-checks the prices of products you have added. To do so, it fetches the retailer page directly from your browser, and for sites that require JavaScript to display prices it may briefly open a background (non-active) tab and close it once the price is extracted. Re-checks only run for product URLs you have explicitly added.
All data — tracked products, price history, settings — is stored on your device in chrome.storage.local. There is no KeenSense server, no account, no analytics, and no telemetry.
Optional AI fallback: if traditional extraction methods fail, you can configure your own OpenAI API key in Settings to use AI-powered extraction. This is off by default. When enabled, small page fragments are sent to OpenAI under your own API key — the developer never sees this data and has no access to your key.
